Like the United Nations

I was born in Cairo, Egypt, so I grew up in a major city where life is active and 24 hours a day. You can literally go out at 3 a.m. and find restaurants to eat and cafes to hang out in. Living in a major city comes with a price though, like noise, pollution, and crowds.

I moved to the U.S. a few years ago and previously lived in Mount Jackson and Front Royal. As much as I kind of liked the lifestyle in small towns in America, I didn’t feel a sense of belonging or comfortable for many reasons. There is not as much to do in those other areas I lived in and it wasn’t very diverse.

I wanted to find a place that has the character of big city but without the negative sides of it. I felt very comfortable when I first settled in Arlington in June of 2018. Arlington is a happy medium between a small town and a major city. Here, you find everything and anything you can imagine. You are connected to the county also with many transportation methods. And you’re close to our beautiful nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.

My first home in Arlington is an apartment building and I hope one day in the future I will be able to buy a house in this beautiful neighborhood.

I like Columbia Pike. I always joke with my wife and tell her this street is like the United Nations. The diversity here is amazing and I feel inspired by it. Many different restaurants, cafes, bars, and other activities that represent many ethnicities and cultures. It is a beautiful area.

I like the diversity, access to services, bike lanes, walking trails and many entertaining places that I can go out with my wife and have fun. Also, there are so many parks and recreational activities.

I joined the Arlington For Everyone campaign to show my appreciation to my new and lovely neighborhood, and to encourage others to take the decision if they are thinking about moving to Arlington.
